Eksperiment is danish for experiment. Without much guessing or knowledge to danish, you probably already knew that! I like those danish words containing a “k” - is it because my name is spelled with a “k” ? I don’t know - maybe it’s because it kind of represents the danish language, which is full of words with “k"s :)
Anyway, the reason for the name is that I wanted a font looking like it had gone through tough times, a bad copy machine and perhaps even crumpled paper…but the experiment is that the font is 100% made using digital media. I used my MacBook and my iPad creating this font. I find it quite amusing, that something 100% digital looks like something organic :)
I’ve added 5 different versions of each letter, which is really helpful when working with grunge fonts. It looks more natural, when the same letter rarely repeats itself.

The typeface DIY Fantasy Stamp is designed in 2020 for the font foundry Typo Graphic Design by Manuel Viergutz. The display typeface is inspired by the crafts of 20s and 40s.
The basis for this authentic stamp font was a letter case with a rubber stamp from Simplex. This analog character set of 85 stamps, was digitally extended to 500+ glyphs.

Killer Garbage is a grunge version of my Spitzenklasse font. It’s worn and torn real bad - but not more than the font is still legible even at very small sizes.
I don’t fancy grunge fonts that only has one or two versions of each letter available. The text usually gets very static and predictable, because the same letters are repeated again and again. That’s why I have included 6 different versions of each letter in this font! And the great thing about this is that the letters automatically cycles as you type! Forget everything about repeating the same letters all the time!!!

This all started as a bunch of letter written using a squared paper as a guide. It all turned out fine, but there was something that wasn’t quite right…it was boring! I took all the letters and grunge it all up and did all the drips as well - and suddenly that boring look was gone!
That was an unlikely development!

It all started with making of a simple all-caps font. I drew the whole alphabet, numbers all else needed - but something wasn’t quite right…the lettershapes were fine, but quite boring. Then I took a drastic decision: I started all over again ... meaning, I printed the whole thing, messed it up using a wet cloth and wrinkled the paper - then scanned it all again, and imported all the graphics yet again. A lot of work, yes - but personally I think it was worth it! But anyway, that’s the story of how Primitivus was made ... well, almost, but not quite ... but that’s another story!
Use Primitivus for anything that needs that special kind of look were handdrawn letters meets grunge! Play around with the 4 different versions of each letter to make your text look even more random and natural!
Designed by David Kerkhoff, Symbolic Prophecy is a brush display and grunge font family. This typeface has two styles and was published by Hanoded.
I am not one for prophecies of impending disaster and all that, don’t worry! I just liked the name and it seems to suit this handmade font quite well.
Symbolic Prophecy was made with a broken bamboo satay skewer and Chinese ink. I quite like using broken satay skewers, as they give a fantastic ‘random’ effect.
Use Symbolic Prophecy for your posters, your product packaging and, just maybe, a sign about the end of times… ;-)

Gutter Pigeon is not your every-day Ransom-kind-of-font! The prices of making it was really simple: I only used my phone and computer. I took pictures of letter from newspapers, magazines, bookcovers, candybars, movieposters, roadsigns, etc. In the beginning, It was easy to find new letters. But as I had the initial letters, it became quite a search for the missing letters. Not a hard job, you may think - but this font has 8 different versions of each letter! That’s 26 lowercase glyphs and 26 uppercase glyphs…8 times! That’s more than 400 glyphs! And on top of that comes numbers and punctuation!
Go crazy with Gutter Pigeon! Actually, that is not very hard, because the font automatically cycles through the 8 different versions of each letter while you type! Upper- and lowercase in a wild mix!

You may recognise the shapes of this font - it’s because it’s my Univeritet font, but this time it took some beating, and turned into a grunge font! The output was Zero Output! It has 5 different versions of each letter and of course multilingual support!

Amateur Typewriter is a monospaced typewriter font, sampled from a real vintage typewriter, that is so much fun to use.
Each letter and number includes 3 versions that are slightly different from each other and appear “randomly” through the contextual aternates OT feature. I used to live in the English Lake District, where I worked in an outdoor gear store. I bought a bright red mountain bike and each day, after work, I cycled up the mountain and hurtled down - heavy metal blasting from my MP3 player.
Of course, the bike was a regular MTB, so it got some serious damage after a while, but the adrenaline rush was great!
Downhill Dive is a great brush font (made with actual brushes and ink on paper - no tablets involved here!). It is an ode to that wonderful time spent in England.
Downhill Dive comes with some really nice ligatures.

Grunge is not dead! Neither is punk!
The proof is the Overbeat font! It has got both grunge and punk in the one and same. The letters are grungy, and punked up with a sort of halftone slime effect. It’s hard, it’s tough and perhaps even scary!
Play around with the font and you’ll quickly notice the variety of the font. Each lowercase letter has 4 different versions and there is ligature substitution for most common uppercase double letters!

Skeletal Wish is a line from one of my favourite Opeth songs: Heir Apparent. The lyrics are pretty veiled and bleak, describing the destruction and downfall of something that once was beautiful. I am worried about what is happening with our planet: the Amazon forest is burning down, our oceans are full of plastic and the earth is warming up. I had to think of this when I created Skeletal Wish and I thought the title was perfect.
Skeletal Wish is a heavy and scary halloween font. It comes with blobs, splatter, gore and whatever else you may need for your designs. It won’t help save the Amazon rainforest, nor will it stop the flow of marine plastic, but you could use it to create a protest sign.
After all, the change begins with you.
